How my Customer Loyalty discount program works

What you need to do to start earning discounts
First, you need to create a user name on my shopping cart so I can track your sales history

To set up a user name in my shopping cart, add parts to your shopping cart and then hit the checkout button.
Press the button that says Create User Name.
Proceed to the checkout form.
Enter all your info and then check out.
Your user name is then saved and ready to use the next time you enter my shopping cart.
I will find all your past purchases going back one year and add them to your current sales history.

Once you have set up a user name, your purchases will begin to be tracked as your purchase history.
Another feature of logging onto my shopping cart is that the next time you check out, you will not have to type in your name and address information, the checkout form will be filled out automatically with your name and address information.
Also, once you login to my shopping cart, you have the ability to save private parts list.

If you have previously set up a user name in my shopping cart, your sales are already being tracked if you logged in when you checked out.
You must log into my shopping cart in order to see your discount information.
When you enter my shopping cart, use the login link in the menu to login.
Then add a part to the shopping cart to see your sales history and discount information.

Your current shopping cart purchases are added to your past sales history after you check out.
The next time you are shopping, the previous purchases earns you a discount on your current shopping cart order.

How the discount program works

Every time you order parts, the parts total, minus any discounts that were applied, will be added to your total parts purchase history.
You will earn a discount percentage on your parts purchase history and you can apply that discount to your next order.

On your next order, you can choose to apply your discount when you are at the checkout form on my shopping cart.

If you elect to apply your discount when you are checking out of my shopping cart, that discount will be applied to your current order.
If you elect to not apply your discount, you will earn an even larger discount % towards your next purchase because your purchase history amount has increased.

Your current shopping cart order is not part of your current parts purchase history
The current shopping cart order always gets added to your parts purchase history after you check out of my shopping cart.
Only your past parts purchase history is used to calculate your current discount.

This is why it is called a customer loyalty program
You have to return to buy more parts to apply the discount that you received from your past purchases
Your new purchase goes towards earning you a discount on your next purchase

Once you apply a discount to your current order, your total purchase history amount is reduced and your current order is added to your new parts purchase history

The discount amount is 1% for every $100.00 of purchase history.
You can apply up to 10% discount on your current shopping cart order.
If you have more than a 10% discount, the remainder above 10% can be applied to the next order
See the examples below on how the discount program works.

Example 1 - You decided that you want to apply your discount to your current shopping cart order
Your parts purchase history is $500.00 and you currently have a 5% discount
5% of $100.00 is a $5.00 discount that you can apply to your current shopping cart order
Your parts total would be $95.00 if you applied that discount to your current shopping cart order.
$100.00 - $5.00 = $95.00 for your current shopping cart total

Now that you have used your discount, your $500.00 purchase history goes back to $0.00
Your current parts order of $95.00 gets added to your purchase history when you check out and finalized your order
Your new purchase history is $95.00

Example 2 - You decided that you do not want to apply your discount to your current shopping cart order
You currently have a $500.00 parts purchase history and a 5% discount
Your current shopping cart has $100.00 worth of parts
You check out and finalize your order but do not use your discount
Your new parts purchase history is $600.00.
$500 previous purchase history + your current $100.00 parts purchase you just made = $600.00 purchase history
Your new discount is now 6% that you can use on your next order

Example 3 - You have a purchase history of $1500.00
This would give you a 15% discount
But you can only apply 10% maximum discount to your current shopping cart
You decide to apply the 10% discount to your current shopping cart order
Your current shopping cart order has $100.00 worth of parts
$100.00 x 10% = $10.00 discount on your current shopping cart order
Your current shopping cart total is now $90.00

Your parts purchase history is reduced from $1500.00 to $500.00 because you used $1000.00 worth of history as your 10% discount
$1500.00 - $1000.00 = $500.00
Now add in your current shopping cart order total to your purchase history
$500.00 + $90.00 = $590.00 is your new purchase history
This would give you a 5.9% discount on your next shopping cart order

After you log into my shopping cart and add a part to your shopping cart.
Your User Name shows at the top
Your discount percentage and amount shows right above the Grand Total
Your sales history info shows at the bottom of this table

Your user name and discount information displays in my checkout screen
You can now choose to apply your discount to this order or use it on another order

If you applied your discount to this order, the discount amount is shown
The parts total with your discount subtracted is shown

You will not see the discount information if you did not apply your discount to this order

Double check to make sure all your information is correct
Review your order and then hit the big button to finalize your order
